This was an interesting story about my neighbor, Mrs. Jones. Mrs. Jones is a kind lady. She was very fond of singing. In fact, she was always heard singing very happily and loudly in the neighbour. She had a good 41 , except that some of her high notes sounded like an old gate which someone had forgotten to 42 .

　　Mrs. Jones knew of this 43 very well, and took every 44 she could find to practice these high notes. There was always a problem. As she lived in a small house, where she could not practice without disturbing 45 of the family, she usually went for a long walk along the country roads whenever she had time, and practiced her high notes there over and over again. Whenever she 46 a car or a person coming along the road, she stopped and waited until they went far away and her voice could no longer heard before she 47 singing again.

　　One afternoon, as usual she stayed outside practicing the high notes, however, a fast open car came up behind her 48 and its speed was so fast that she did not hear it until it was only a few meters from her. When the car. 49 her, she was singing her highest and the 50 notes at the time. Then she noticed an anxious 51 suddenly come over its driver’s face. He 52 his brakes (手剎) , and as soon as the car stopped, he jumped out and began to 53 all his tires (輪胎) carefully. Mrs. Jones did not dare to tell him 54 the noise he had heard was actually from her. Then the driver got back into his car and drove off as 55 as he had been. Mrs. Jones just saw him drive away and then laughed.
