A Congratulation Letter
June 16, 2006
Dear John,
I‘m very glad to hear that you have passed the entrance examination and been accepted by a very famous university. I feel very proud of you and I believe you really deserve the honor since you have been working so hard. As you have mentioned in the letter, there are both some similarities and differences between the college life and the life in high school. On the one hand, you have to go on working hard as there are a lot of subjects for you to learn.
On the other hand, in high school, teachers will probably tell you what to learn and how to learn in details and will also monitor your learning performance, while in college, teachers work like tour guides and you have to find out your own way to acquire knowledge and solve problems. For you, I think to be optimistic is very important. If you hope to adapt yourself to the new environment, you‘d better be positive no matter what difficulties you will experience in your college life. May you adapt yourself to the college life as soon as possible!
Truly Yours,
Carl

How to Improve Student’s Mental Health
More and more people has begun to consider their mental health that plays an important role in our daily life. Nowadays ,many students suffer from mental illness ,which seriously influence on their study and daily life.
Consequently, schools should take effect measures to solve this problem. The mental health consul department should be built in school to help those students who suffer from mental illness. In this way, those who are subjected to the mental illness can get rid of the unhealthy shadow and build up their confident. On the one hand, school can provide a chance for students to show their tension. On the other hand, president and teachers should try their best to help those students. In addition, giving more concentration on their physical health would help them to rebuild their mental health.
From what has been mentioned above, as students, we should try our best to communicate with our, friends, parents or teachers. Last but not the least; we should not hesitate to go to the mental health consult room for help when we have trouble in mental illness. Only in this way, can we reduce our mental illness, and we will become a strong and confident person in the end.

College Graduates Work as Village Officials
Nowadays many college graduates choose to work as village officials in the remote areas. To this, people‘s attitudes differ sharply. Some hold the positive view while others are against it.
As far as I am concerned, I believe that it is a wise choice. Above all, college graduates can contribute a lot to the development of the countryside. First, they can apply their professional knowledge there. Secondly, they can introduce new concepts to the countryside and speed the development of rural culture. As a result, the gap between the city and the countryside can well be bridged. In addition, these graduates can benefit a lot from working as village officials. While too many college graduates are fighting for the handful of positions in big cities, these graduates can find themselves a wider stage of development and realize their value. Therefore, college graduates working as village officials are a win-win choice and more graduates should be encouraged to work in the countryside.
