　　Oh, hello. I wanted to enquire about hiring a room in the Village Hall, for the evening of September the first.

　　Let me just see...Yes, we have both rooms available that evening.

　　Charlton會(huì)議室，名字拼寫是 C-H-A-R-l-T-0-N。這間會(huì)議室最多可容納100個(gè)人。

　　The Charlton Room - C-H-A-R-l-T-0-N.That's got seating for up to one hundred.

　　我們要組織一個(gè)籌款的慈善晚宴，預(yù)期至少會(huì)有150個(gè)人出席，

　　Well, we're organising a dinner to raise money for a charity, and we're hoping for at least 150 people,

　　所以我想我們還是定主廳吧。

　　so I think we'll go for the Main Hall.

　　租用主廳要花多少錢?

　　How much would that cost?

　　Let's see. You wanted it for the evening of September 1st?

　　Yes, that's a Saturday.

　　從晚上6點(diǎn)到12點(diǎn)是115英鎊，這是周末的價(jià)格，工作日租用的話只要75英鎊。

　　So from 6 p. m. to midnight that'd be 115 pounds-that's the weekend price, it's 75 pounds on weekdays.

　　可以。

　　That's all right.

　　還有，你還要交個(gè)250英鎊的押金，當(dāng)然了，只要主廳沒有出現(xiàn)什么破損，就會(huì)把押金退還給你的。

　　And I have to tell you there's also a deposit of 250 pounds, which is returnable of course as long as there's no damage.

　　但是我們押金只收現(xiàn)金，不能刷卡。

　　But we do insist that this is paid in cash, we don't take cards for that.

　　實(shí)際租金隨便怎么支付都可以，現(xiàn)金、刷卡、支票......都沒問題。

　　You can pay the actual rent of the room however you like though cash, credit card, cheque...

　　嗯，我覺得應(yīng)該沒問題。你們收取的租金里面包括了使用桌椅之類的費(fèi)用嗎?

　　Oh, well I suppose that's OK.So does the charge include use of tables and chairs and so on?

　　包括了的。

　　Oh, yes.

　　停車費(fèi)呢?

　　And what about parking?

　　都包含在內(nèi)了。

　　Yeah that's all included.

　　唯一一個(gè)沒有包括的是......你剛才說你們要籌備一個(gè)晚宴?

　　The only thing that isn't included is that...you said you were organising a dinner?

　　是的。

　　Yeah.

　　那如果你們要使用廚房的話，還要額外支付25英鎊。

　　Well, you'll have to pay extra for the kitchen if you want to use that. It's 25 pounds.

　　廚房里的設(shè)備都很棒，有質(zhì)量很好的廚具，還有冰箱等等。

　　It's got very good facilities — good quality cookers and fridges and so on.

　　好的，我想應(yīng)該沒關(guān)系。

　　OK, well I suppose that's all right.

　　We can cover the cost in our entry charges.

　　Right. So I'll make a note of that.

　　Now there are just one or two things you need to think about before the event.

　　For example, you'll have to see about getting a licence if you're planning to have any music during the meal.

　　Oh, really?

　　And about a week or ten days before your event you'll need to contact the caretaker, that's Mr Evans,
