　　解析：這一句英文里，最難以把握的一個(gè)詞就是worst。原因是，通常在我們的印象里，death toll似乎不會與the worst進(jìn)行搭配，即the death toll is bad并不是一個(gè)習(xí)慣性的搭配， 而the death toll通常是與high by number or account搭配。不過，the worst 并不只是bad的最高級，本身也有獨(dú)立的意思，即“最壞的事;最糟的情況”，The worst is the most unpleasant or unfavourable thing that could happen or does happen. 例如：Though mine safety has much improved, miners' families still fear the worst./盡管礦井的安全狀況有了很大改善，礦工的家屬仍然害怕最糟的情況會發(fā)生。The country had come through the worst of the recession. /該國已經(jīng)度過了經(jīng)濟(jì)衰退最糟糕的時(shí)期。也就是說，the worst在這里可以指“沖突中出現(xiàn)了死亡(人數(shù))是1967年以來最糟糕的情況”。不過，“情況最糟糕”不只兩國邊境沖突的狀況，而是“死亡人員”是沖突中最多的一次。而且，英文句中還有一個(gè)強(qiáng)化，即the first loss of life since 1975。這就很明顯地可以推斷出，the death toll不只是一個(gè)簡單的死亡人數(shù)，而是自1967年中印邊境戰(zhàn)爭后出現(xiàn)的死亡人數(shù)最多的——這當(dāng)然會是兩國邊境沖突中最糟糕的情況了。另外，the death toll的意思是“(事故、災(zāi)難或戰(zhàn)爭中的)死亡人數(shù)”，即 The death toll of an accident, disaster, or war is the number of people who die in it. 例如：The death toll from the violence has reached 47./由暴力事件引起的死亡人數(shù)已經(jīng)達(dá)到47。

　　解析：中文雖然只有一句，但意思卻有兩層。一層是“長征三號乙運(yùn)載火箭發(fā)射任務(wù)推遲”，另一層則是“長征三號乙運(yùn)載火箭發(fā)射北斗三號最后一顆全球組網(wǎng)衛(wèi)星”。在中文里，用如此長的動賓結(jié)構(gòu)來做“長征三號乙運(yùn)載火箭”的定語，其實(shí)是不常見的。不過，在這個(gè)句子里使用，還是顯得很嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)。那么，在英文里，可能相應(yīng)地結(jié)構(gòu)來譯，似乎也是可以的。參考譯文是新華社的版本，而中國日報(bào)的版本略有變化，而大體一致：The launch mission for the final satellite in the third-generation network of China's Beidou Navigation Satellite System has been postponed。這兩個(gè)版本有一個(gè)同樣的特點(diǎn)，就是整個(gè)主語很工，甚至顯得頭重腳輕，不太符合英文結(jié)構(gòu)平衡的要求 。擬修改為：The launch mission was postpone for the final satellite in the third-generation network of China's Beidou Navigation Satellite System.

　　解析： 首先，先來了解一下indigation的意思，“憤怒;憤慨;義憤”，即Indignation is the feeling of shock and anger which you have when you think that something is unjust or unfair. 例如：She was filled with indignation at the conditions under which miners were forced to work./礦工們被迫在如此惡劣的條件下工作,她感到異常憤怒。 No wonder he could hardly contain his indignation./難怪他幾乎抑制不住自己的憤怒。另一個(gè)詞是topple，意思是“(使)搖搖欲墜;(使)不穩(wěn)而倒下”，即If someone or something topples somewhere or if you topple them, they become unsteady or unstable and fall over. 例如：He just released his hold and toppled slowly backwards./他剛一松開手就緩緩向后倒下。整個(gè)句子是the indignation may have been righteous, but they were wrong to topple him themselves，指的是一種情況與一種行為的對比。另外，righteous與wrong的意思相反。Righteous表示(情緒)“合理”，那么wrong就表示(行為)“不當(dāng)”。
