　　Hypotaxis：The dependent or subordinate construction or relationship of clauses with connectives, for example, I shall despair if you don’t come.

　　Parataxis：The arranging of clauses one after the other without connectives showing the relation between them. Example: The rain fell; the river flooded; the house was washed away.

　　5.Theme：句子陳述的對象(即話題)，談話的出發(fā)點(diǎn)，它是讀者從上下文或由語言外的知識得知的內(nèi)容。因此，它表達(dá)的是已知信息(given information);

　　Rheme：指為主體提供新信息的句子成分，是句子對陳述對象所作的陳述，即對已知事物說了些什么，它是交際的中心，敘述的目的，是讀者所未知或假定讀者未知的內(nèi)容，因此，它表達(dá)的是未知信息(new information)。一般來說，未知信息是句子內(nèi)容的重點(diǎn)或句子的強(qiáng)調(diào)點(diǎn)。
