Like many other students, nine-year-old Minnal went abroad(國外) with her parents during the recent(最近的)school holidays. She climbed a mountain.

For eight days in May, Minnal hiked nearly 100 kilometres to reach the 5364-metre-high Everest(珠穆朗瑪峰) base camp in Nepal. The girl talked about her special trip, “I think this was a meaningful climb for me.” Minnal has to wait for some years to climb the Everest because climbers have to be at least sixteen years to climb the peak.

How did it all start? It all began last year when Minnal’s mother decided she might want to climb the famous Himalayas. As a good hiker, she asked both father and daughter if they were up for the challenge(挑戰(zhàn)).This year, on 20 May, the family flew to Nepal.

Minnal told that most of the eight days were spent hiking ten to fifteen kilometres from 8a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. With the help of three local guides, they didn’t lose their way. Luckily, nobody fell ill. She also said that she is thinking of climbing Everest in the future.

How brave the girl is! She is really a hero.

        六、任務(wù)型閱讀(共10分)閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容完成表格中所缺信息,每空一詞。

Do you go to school by bus? It is very important for you to know how to be safe when taking a bus, no matter whether you like it or not.

First, don’t run to the bus stop, but walk. While you are at the bus stop, you should wait in a safe place. Do not run or play while waiting. And never get into a car with a stranger.

Second, don’t talk in a loud voice when you are on the bus, so the driver will not be disturbed(打擾). If you need to talk with the bus driver, you’d better wait until the bus stops. Never throw things on the bus or out of the windows. Never play near the emergency exit (緊急出口). When there is a fire, the most important thing is to break the window with a hammer or any sharp things and then jump out.

Third, when you are getting off the bus, make sure you walk (not run) three more steps away from the door. This is the best place to be around a bus. Stay away from the bus wheels and watch out for a moving car!

Last, if you leave something on the bus, never return to the bus to get it. The driver may not see you come back and he may begin moving the bus. Also, if you drop something near the bus, you’d better tell the driver before trying to pick it up, so he will know where you are.
