　　Task 1

　　Your friend went straight to work after high school and skipped university. But now ten years later, he decides to go to university. Please talk about at least one challenge he will face when he goes to university at an elder age.

　　Do you agree or disagree with the statement?

　　It’s never acceptable to interrupt other people when they are taking.

　　Task 3

　　閱讀 標(biāo)題： close train station

　　原因1: few passengers use the station;2 把train station建成café等給學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)

　　聽力 態(tài)度：不贊成(a pity)

　　原因1：true: not a lot of people use it, many drive; 但是，還有些人用，學(xué)生老師 commute to campus; 同時(shí)vacation時(shí)，學(xué)生會從這個(gè)station到其他main station, 如果close掉，只能take cab了。

　　原因2： 學(xué)生不需要額外的study place. 已經(jīng)有很多靠近dorm和classroom building的地方了，舉例說有24小時(shí)開放的，book store里面的café, 都很安靜。 問題是現(xiàn)在很多同學(xué)不知道這些地方的存在，學(xué)校應(yīng)該宣傳告訴學(xué)生這些地方。

　　閱讀 標(biāo)題：cultural preadaptation

　　定義：when people migrate, they can use skills they’ve developed in previous environment to adapt to new environment.

　　聽力 例子：曾經(jīng)住在southern Russia的farmer， 后來來到north America。 這兩個(gè)地方有similar climate—dry。 所以對于farming來講是個(gè)challenge。 但是，本來在Russia的時(shí)候這些farmer已經(jīng)有dry land technique. 他們知道該怎么種，該種什么，所以到了北美后他們用了同樣的farming technique，結(jié)果很成功，population flourish了

　　Task 5

　　問題：vacation的時(shí)候?qū)W校repaint了dorm hall, 所以現(xiàn)在有smell of paint in the air. 而男生sensitive to the smell。 他會有headache。

　　解決方案1：switch dorm

　　優(yōu)點(diǎn)1：可以換，領(lǐng)導(dǎo)同意

　　缺點(diǎn)1 一換就得a whole semester, 他只想換couple of weeks. 因?yàn)閛ld roommates等都在原來dorm

　　解決方案2：去住校外uncle的apartment

　　優(yōu)點(diǎn)2：

　　缺點(diǎn)2：他沒車，也沒bus line. 只能走，來回一天一小時(shí)

　　Task 6(question問法-只說讓我們summarize the lecture, 無多余信息)

　　話題：2 ways birds can cope with strong winds

　　要點(diǎn)1：對于soaring birds—change the position of wings

　　(這種鳥得stretch wings and glide, 如果有強(qiáng)風(fēng)，可能被knocked off the wind.)

　　例子1：eagle。

　　遇到強(qiáng)風(fēng)時(shí)，會收回wing，press tightly for 0.5s, 然后再stretch開來

　　要點(diǎn)2：對于hovering birds—move another part of body to keep balance

　　例子2：hummingbird.

　　遇到強(qiáng)風(fēng)，但是還需要fly and eat nectar from flower, hummingbird 會move tail back and forth 來keep in position; avoid being blown out of the wind.
