　　Hi professor, I was hoping to ask you a few questions about the class you’re teaching next semester, the course on Polish drama. I was thinking of taking it.

　　教授你好，我想問(wèn)你一些關(guān)于你下學(xué)期要教的課的問(wèn)題，就是波蘭戲劇那門課，我在考慮選修那門課。

　　Well, that’s an upper division course, you don’t look familiar to me.

　　那是一門高階課，你看上去很眼生啊，

　　Are you a student in this department? No, actually I’m not.

　　你是這個(gè)系的學(xué)生嗎?實(shí)際上我不是這個(gè)系的。

　　OK, have you had other classes in the Slavic Languages Department, here or somewhere else?No, that’s the thing.

　　那你上過(guò)斯拉夫語(yǔ)系的課嗎?在這里或其他地方都行。沒(méi)，問(wèn)題就出在這兒，

　　I was just wondering how good my Polish would have to be, whether the class is taught in Polish or not.

　　我只是想知道我的波蘭語(yǔ)要多好才能上這門課，這門課會(huì)不會(huì)用波蘭語(yǔ)授課呢?

　　Well, you’d have to have some knowledge of it, by that level a lot of student are quite fluent, plus there’re some native speakers in the department.

　　你得對(duì)它有一些了解，到了那種水平，很多學(xué)生的波蘭語(yǔ)都相當(dāng)流利了，另外，這個(gè)系還有一些母語(yǔ)是波蘭語(yǔ)的人。

　　And we don’t plan for it to happen, but it’s pretty common for the discussions to kind of move in and out of English and Polish

　　我們沒(méi)有這么特意規(guī)劃，但是討論中會(huì)穿插著英語(yǔ)和波蘭語(yǔ)是很常見(jiàn)的，

　　and it can be difficult to follow, so, how well do you speak Polish?

　　可能會(huì)很難跟上進(jìn)度，所以你的波蘭語(yǔ)講得怎么樣?

　　Hmm, not so great, it’s just that my father’s from there,

　　不是特別好，只是我爸爸是波蘭人，

　　so I’m interested in learning about...you know, Polish history, Polish culture, plus I’m studying drama.

　　所以我對(duì)學(xué)習(xí)波蘭歷史、波蘭文化很感興趣，而且我還在學(xué)習(xí)戲劇。

　　I’ll probably major in it. I love plays. So I thought your course might be perfect.

　　我可以會(huì)選擇戲劇專業(yè)，我非常熱愛(ài)話劇，所以我覺(jué)得您的課再合適不過(guò)了。
