　　我還是單身。I’m still single。

　　我無“家”一身輕。 I have no family to tie me down。

　　她很年輕時(shí)就結(jié)婚了。She (was/got) married young。

　　我喜歡單身而不是結(jié)婚。I prefer being single to being married。

　　他們將在8月喜結(jié)連理。They will tie the knot in August。

　　她與一個法國人結(jié)婚了。She’s married to a Frenchman。

　　他們結(jié)婚一年后就離異了。They split up after one year of marriage。

　　她再婚了，嫁給了一位有錢人。She is married again to a wealthy man。

　　Preferring to Stay Single

　　Tess：Hi, Jack. We’re having a party tonight. Wanna come and join us? You can bring your girlfriend Tina。

　　Jack：I don’t have a girlfriend. I’m single。

　　Tess：Oh, that’s right. Well, there are going to be many beautiful girls at the party tonight anyway。

　　Jack：No. I like being single. I’ve never felt lonely. I’m focusing on my career. Maybe I’ll start to look for my girl when I achieve success。

　　Tess：Why is that?

　　Jack：Because I live in the real world. A man needs to have a good career and make a lot of money.Frankly speaking, the girls I’ve met wouldn’t marry a man who didn’t make enough money。

　　Tess：I agree. A man needs a good career but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have a little fun, too。

　　Jack：I just don’t want to get distracted。
