The park that left a deep impression on me is the Ocean Park in Hong Kong. I went there last summer with my parents and I was told it’s the largest theme park in Asia. It’s more than just an oceanarium. To be exact, it’s a combination of an animal theme park and an amusement park. We spent a whole day there but still didn’t have enough time to try all the facilities.
The Ocean Park has a long history, the guide told us it was first built in 1970s, and the government has invested a huge amount of money over the years. Now the park has two main areas separated by a large mountain, and tourists can take cable cars to get around.
What appealed to me most were the various attractions and rides, like roller coasters, and animal exhibits with different themes. I heard they have four roller coasters, but we didn’t have time to experience them all, ‘cause you know, there was a long line of people in front of every one of them.
We also went to the Polar Adventure section where I saw a bunch of adorable penguins and arctic foxes. And the Grand Aquarium was even more fantastic. When we were strolling through the underwater tunnel, there were performers dressed as mermaids to entertain people. And there was a male mermaid waving at us and doing lots of hilarious movements, which really cracked me up.
Anyway, my trip to the Ocean Park was really memorable.
