Economic Development and Environmental Protection

　　There are some individuals who argue that, compared to the environment protection, the top priority is supposed to given to economic development. They deem that environmental problems are inevitable and unavoidable in the process of economic development. They are only the by products of economic development, which can be handled later when we have the time and money.

　　However, other individuals hold different opinions that(或者：other holders of the opposite opinions argue that ) environment protection should be attached more importance than economic development in that present serious environmental problems will threaten the health of the residents and hinder the advance of the economy.

　　As far as I am concerned, environmental protection and economic development can coexist in parallel and can stay in harmony. Our ultimate aim in economic development is to provide a comfortable and happy life for our people. What is the point of economic development if we achieve it at the cost of our environment? There has been much evidence to prove that a balance between the two helps more rapid and continuous development of the society.

　　有一些人認為，相比于環(huán)境保護，優(yōu)先考慮的是應(yīng)該給經(jīng)濟發(fā)展。他們認為環(huán)境問題在經(jīng)濟發(fā)展過程中是不可避免的。他們只是經(jīng)濟發(fā)展的副產(chǎn)品，當我們有時間和金錢的時候我們才應(yīng)該處理它。

　　然而，其他人持不同的觀點，(或者：其他持有人持有相反的意見)環(huán)境保護應(yīng)比經(jīng)濟發(fā)展重要，目前的嚴重的環(huán)境問題，危及居民的健康，阻礙經(jīng)濟的促進經(jīng)濟發(fā)展。

　　就我而言，經(jīng)濟發(fā)展和環(huán)境保護可以并行共存可以保持和諧。我們在經(jīng)濟發(fā)展的最終目的是為我們的人民提供一個舒適幸福的生活。經(jīng)濟發(fā)展的觀點是什么，如果我們用我們的環(huán)境作為代價去獲取它們?已經(jīng)有大量的證據(jù)證明兩者之間的平衡有助于社會更快速和持續(xù)發(fā)展。
