　　Nowadays, with the policyof collegeenrollment expansion inChina,higher education is nolonger the privilege only enjoyed byminorities. The past decade has witnessed a steady increase in the percentageof people owning college diploma, from 8.3% to 23.5%.

　　However, every coin has two sides. Everyyear so many graduates pour into the employmentmarket and greatlyintensify the competition in job market. Plenty of themremain unemployed.Consequently, the concept of “uselessness of study”prevails among the people who adoptanegative attitude toward higher education and believe it futile to pursue a degree.

　　As far as I am concerned, the purposeof university education is not only to equip studentswith knowledgeandprofessionalskills, butto cultivatequalified citizenstodealwith variouschallenges with full developed character and talent. Therefore, as college students, we shouldvalue the learning opportunity to perfect ourselves for the future competition.

　　大學(xué)教育的目的

　　現(xiàn)在，隨著高校擴招政策的實行，在中國高等教育不再僅僅是少數(shù)人的特權(quán)。過去十年見證了擁有大學(xué)文憑的人數(shù)比例的增長，從十年前的8.3%穩(wěn)定增長到了現(xiàn)在的23.5%。

　　然而，任何事物都是有兩面性的。每年如此多的畢業(yè)生涌入就業(yè)市場，加劇了找工作的競爭力。他們中的許多人無法找到工作。所以，在那些對高等教育采取消極態(tài)度并且認為攻讀學(xué)位只是徒勞的人中，“讀書無用論”開始盛行。

　　我認為，大學(xué)教育的目的不僅僅是用知識和職業(yè)技能來武裝學(xué)生，而且還要培養(yǎng)合格的公民，以全面發(fā)展的人格和才能處理各種各樣的挑戰(zhàn)。因此，作為大學(xué)生，我們必須珍惜學(xué)習(xí)機會，完善自我，來迎接未來的竟爭。
