An Indian bride canceled her wedding after her groom1 recited the multiplication2 table of two incorrectly.

　　A bride and groom who wish to remain unidentified were supposed to have the wedding for their arranged marriage on May 1 in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India.

　　When he failed to recite the multiplication table of two, the bride left, "saying that she could not marry someone who did not know basic math," reported INQUIRER.net.

　　The bride's cousin stated that the groom's family did not inform them of his lack of education, adding that the bride was "brave" for leaving the wedding venue5.

　　新娘的表妹稱，男方家庭沒有告知新郎教育程度低的事實，并補充道，新娘離開婚禮現(xiàn)場的做法“很勇敢”。

　　"He may not have even gone to school. The groom's family had cheated us," she said to the Tribune India. "But my brave sister walked out without fearing social taboo6."

　　她告訴《印度論壇報》說：“他可能都沒上過學。新郎的家人騙了我們。但是勇敢的姐姐不懼怕社會禁忌，就這樣走出了禮堂。”

　　The two families came to a compromise which included returning all gifts and jewelry7 to the appropriate parties.
