希拉里在美國館演講中引用的詩句

　　5月22日，美國國務(wù)卿克林頓在上海世博會美國館招待會上發(fā)表講話。講話中她再次引用了一句詩：山重水復(fù)疑無路，柳暗花明又一村。她是如何用英語表述這兩句詩的呢?

　　演講原文是：

　　There is a poem from the Southern Song Dynasty that reads: “After endless mountains and rivers that leave doubt whether there is a path out, suddenly one encounters the shade of a willow, bright flowers and a lovely village.”

　　這里“山重水復(fù)”可以簡單說成endless mountains and rivers，而“疑無路”這三個字可以說是比較難翻譯的一個地方，上文的譯本中作了一個主語的轉(zhuǎn)換，將“懷疑”的主語人省去了，用leave doubt that這個詞組來表示，就使得譯文簡化了很多，不然一定要添譯進去一個“人”的主體，譯文很可能就比較冗長：After trudging through endless mountains and rivers，one might begin to doubt whether there is a path out。

　　同樣，“柳暗花明又一村”這一句也簡化成了三個意象：willow，flower，village。

　　詩詞的翻譯需要主動學(xué)習(xí)研究與平時積累兩方面雙管齊下。不少國外政要來華演講時都喜歡引用中國的古詩詞或者典故，這就是我們做資料收集的一個很好來源。

　　Establishing an American presence at this Expo worthy of our great country was quite a journey.

　　這一屆世界博覽會建立美國展區(qū)，為了展現(xiàn)我們偉大國家的風(fēng)采，走過了一段很不容易的路程。

　　There is a poem from the Southern Song Dynasty that reads: “After endless mountains and rivers that leave doubt whether there is a path out, suddenly one encounters the shade of a willow, bright flowers and a lovely village.” Well, I am very pleased that we have finally arrived at our lovely village.

　　南宋時期的一首詩寫道，山窮水盡疑無路，柳暗花明又一村�，F(xiàn)在我們最終來到我們可愛的村莊，我感到非常高興。

　　This was a real team effort, a partnership that brought together our government, the private sector, the Chinese-American community, and so many friends and supporters. So, let me offer a few thank-yous.

　　這項工作真正體現(xiàn)了團隊精神，體現(xiàn)了伙伴關(guān)系，匯聚了我們的政府、民間部門、美國華裔社區(qū)以及如此眾多的朋友和支持者的力量。為此，請允許我說幾句表示感謝的話。
