　　2.I feel honored to come here on my first visit to your beautiful city.

　　這是我首次訪問(wèn)你們這座美麗的城市，我為此深感榮幸 。

　　2. On behalf of all the members of my mission, I would like to take this

　　opportunity to express our sincere thanks to our host for their earnest

　　invitation and gracious hospitality we have received since we set foot on this charming land.

　　我愿借此機(jī)會(huì)，代表我們代表團(tuán)的全體成員，對(duì)我們東道主的誠(chéng)摯邀請(qǐng)，對(duì)我們一踏上這塊充滿魅力的土地便受到的友好款待，向東道主表示真誠(chéng)的感謝。

　　4.I am also very happy that this visit has given me an excellent opportunity

　　to convey to you and to the people of Shanghai warm greetings and sincere

　　good wishes of the government and people of my country.

　　與此同時(shí)，我很高興這次訪問(wèn)給予我一次極好的機(jī)會(huì)，向市長(zhǎng)先生和上海人民轉(zhuǎn)達(dá)我國(guó)政府和人民的熱烈問(wèn)候和誠(chéng)摯的良好祝愿。

　　5.Although we live with a distance of thousands ofmiles between us, “Long distance separates no bosom friends,” as one of your Tang poets said.

　　雖然我們遠(yuǎn)隔萬(wàn)里，但貴國(guó)唐朝一位詩(shī)人說(shuō)得好：“海內(nèi)存知己，天涯若比鄰�！�

　　6.The whole world is watching with great interest the remarkable changes

　　that are taking place in China ,particularly in Shanghai ,a thriving and robust megalopolis .

　　整個(gè)世界都以極大的興趣注視著中國(guó)正在發(fā)生的巨大變化，尤其是注視著上海這座朝氣蓬勃向上的特大型城市所發(fā)生的巨大變化。

　　7. To our great amazement ,this country boasts a three-decade persistent economic growth with its consequent immense contributions to the world economy ,which is unequalled elsewhere in the world .

　　令人驚訝的是，在過(guò)去的三十年里，中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)強(qiáng)勁持續(xù)增長(zhǎng)，她對(duì)世界經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展的巨大貢獻(xiàn)，沒(méi)有哪一個(gè)國(guó)家可以與其媲美。

　　7.This is a country with the fastest growing economy in the world. 這是世界上經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)最快的國(guó)家。

　　8.China’miraculous rise as one of the strongest economic powers in the

　　Asian-Pacific region has attracted ，and will continue to attract ,a growing

　　number of business and finacial giants in our country to invest in China,

　　particularly to invest in a number of long-term projects in Shanghai and its

　　surrounding in the post-world-expo era .

　　中國(guó)奇跡般的迅速崛起為亞太地區(qū)最具有實(shí)力的經(jīng)濟(jì)強(qiáng)國(guó)之一，吸引了并將繼續(xù)吸引我國(guó)越來(lái)越多的商業(yè)、制造業(yè)、和金融業(yè)的巨頭來(lái)華投資，尤其是世博后的上海及其周邊地區(qū)許多長(zhǎng)期項(xiàng)目上投資。

　　8. There has never been any place other than Pudong that holds so much

　　attraction for our people in the business community.

　　沒(méi)有哪一個(gè)地方像浦東那樣對(duì)我們商業(yè)界產(chǎn)生如此之大的吸引力。

　　10.It is with this awareness that we have come here to seek better ways of

　　promoting our economic and financial cooperation.

　　正是基于對(duì)這種狀況的認(rèn)識(shí)，我們來(lái)到上海尋求進(jìn)一步發(fā)展我們?cè)诮?jīng)濟(jì)和金融的方面合作的更好途徑。

　　11.One of the objectives of my mission is to sign our Investment Protection Agreement and Intellectual Property Rights Protection Agreement .

　　我此行的目的之一就是締結(jié)我們的《投資保護(hù)協(xié)議》和《知識(shí)產(chǎn)權(quán)保護(hù)協(xié)定》。

　　12.I am also seeking possibilities of establishing, through partnership with

　　our Chinese colleagues, a jiont consultancy firm that will provide services

　　for transnational corporations in Shanghai.

　　我此行的另一目的是希望能與中國(guó)同行攜手建立一家以上海的跨國(guó)公司為服務(wù)對(duì)象的合資咨詢服務(wù)機(jī)構(gòu)。

　　13.Last but not the least, I would like to extend in person our official

　　invitation to the mayor of Shanghai.

　　最后，我此行的又一項(xiàng)重要的任務(wù)是向上海市長(zhǎng)面呈來(lái)訪我市的正式邀請(qǐng)。

　　14.We would like His Honor to visit our city at his earliest convenience,

　　so as to give us an opportunity to return the warm reception and hospitality we enjoy here.

　　我們希望市長(zhǎng)閣下在其方便的時(shí)候盡早訪問(wèn)我市，以便使我們有機(jī)會(huì)回報(bào)我們?cè)谶@里受到的熱情款待。

　　15.I greatly cherish the close relationship between our two cities.

　　我非常珍惜我們兩個(gè)城市之間的密切關(guān)系。

　　16.I also greatly value the position we enjoy as one of your most important

　　trading partners.

　　我也非常重視我們作為你們最重要的貿(mào)易伙伴之一所享有的地位。

　　17.In spite of the worldwide economic recession in recent years, there has

　　been a steady growth in our economic cooperation and trade volume.

　　盡管近年來(lái)世界經(jīng)濟(jì)處于不景氣的狀態(tài)，我們之間的經(jīng)濟(jì)合作和貿(mào)易額卻一直在穩(wěn)步增長(zhǎng)。

　　18.It is our sincere wish that we continue to work closely together to

　　enhance our friendly relationship and to ensure a sustained growth in our

　　economic, financial and trade cooperation.

　　我們真誠(chéng)地希望彼此之間繼續(xù)密切合作，發(fā)展我們的友好關(guān)系，確保我們?cè)诮?jīng)濟(jì)、金融和貿(mào)易方面的合作持續(xù)增長(zhǎng)。
