四、詞匯歸類
不同性質的新聞是由不同的詞組成的，每種新聞都有一個相對固定的用詞范疇，在一個范疇中的詞匯，不管如何搭配，一般只適合描述一種性質的新聞。如在巴以沖突的新聞中, Israel, Palestinian leader, withdraw撤軍, West Bank, terrorist, Jerusalem, HAMAS, 等等是“出鏡率”較高的詞匯。
這種詞組組合，雖然沒有“物以類聚”的性質，但卻自然形成了一個詞群(word group)。因此，不論是新聞撰稿人，還是新聞的收聽者，對它們的運用、理解似乎都有一種心靈上的默契。
因此，掌握了歸類詞匯就拿到了解新聞類題的“金鑰匙”。
