　　自從1978年改革開放以來，出國留學(xué)的相關(guān)工作迅速發(fā)展，現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)成為向外宣傳中國改革開放的窗口，也有利于中國與其他國家之間的文化交流。

　　去年，出國留學(xué)的學(xué)生和學(xué)者的總數(shù)為117,300人，其中3002人受國家公費(fèi)資助出國，5114人由單位出資出國，另外109,200人為自費(fèi)出國。

　　同年，20,100位學(xué)生和學(xué)者學(xué)成歸國，其中有2638位國家公費(fèi)資助出國人員，4292位單位出資出國人員以及13200位自費(fèi)出國人員。

　　從1978年到去年，共有700,200位中國學(xué)生和學(xué)者分別在世界108個(gè)國家和地區(qū)學(xué)習(xí)和工作，幾乎覆蓋了所有學(xué)科。數(shù)量和規(guī)模之大在中國前所未有。

　　在同一時(shí)期歸國的人數(shù)為172,800。未歸國的527,400人中，356,600人還在進(jìn)行學(xué)習(xí)和研究工作，或者在國外高校任訪問學(xué)者。

　　Since the reform and opening up in 1978, the work related to students and scholars who study abroad has seen rapid developments and now it serves as a window for China’s reform and opening up as well as for the cultural exchanges between China and other countries.

　　Last year, the total number of students and scholars studying abroad was 117,300, among which 3,002 people were state-funded, 5,114 employer-funded and 109,200 self-funded.

　　In the same year, a total number of 20,100 students and scholars returned from overseas studying, among which 2,638 were state-funded, 4,292 employer-funded and 13,200 self-funded.

　　From 1978 to last year, a total number of 700,200 Chinese students and scholars studied in 108 countries and regions all over the world, covering almost all disciplines. Both the quantity and scale were unprecedented in the history of China.

　　During the same period, a total of 172,800 returned. As for 527,400 who haven’t returned yet, 356,600 are still studying, doing researches or visiting as scholars in foreign higher education institutions.
