　　我是個(gè)心理研究工作者，從事一些婚姻家庭問題的研究。今天我很榮幸受邀談一談這個(gè)話題�，F(xiàn)在做個(gè)好父母比以往任何時(shí)候都要難。

　　在壓力重重的現(xiàn)在生活中，要做個(gè)好雇員就無法同時(shí)做稱職的家長(zhǎng)。父母應(yīng)給予孩子們悉心照料，我們卻無暇顧及。

　　傳統(tǒng)家庭有很多強(qiáng)加給婦女的責(zé)任。因此，現(xiàn)在許多受過高等教育以及經(jīng)濟(jì)地位優(yōu)越的婦女都情愿有一段職業(yè)間歇，這樣和孩子一起在家里的時(shí)間就長(zhǎng)一些，而不僅是那18周。

　　我認(rèn)為，婚姻的關(guān)鍵一點(diǎn)就是它給夫妻雙方以種種義務(wù)，而不只是賦予他們追求自身幸福的權(quán)力。孩子需要家長(zhǎng)的自我犧牲和無私奉獻(xiàn)，也就是說需要父母長(zhǎng)期地投入時(shí)間和財(cái)力。

　　I’m a research psychologist and I’ve been doing researches on the problems of marriage and family. Today I feel greatly honored to be invited to give a talk on this subject. Being a good parent is harder now than it has ever been before.

　　In pressurized modern lives, it is hard to be a good worker and a good parent at the same time. We haven’t left space for the care and nurturing that parents expect to provide for their children.

　　Traditional family imposes too many roles on females. Therefore, today many highly educated and economically privileged women are opting to take career breaks so as to be at home with their children for longer than the 18 weeks.

　　I think the whole point of marriage is that it imposes clear obligation, not just the right to pursue your own happiness. Children demand sacrifice and altruism, which means a long-term investment of parental time and money.
