　　70年前的今天，中國人民經(jīng)過長達(dá)14年艱苦卓絕的斗爭，取得了中國人民抗日戰(zhàn)爭的偉大勝利，宣告了世界反法西斯戰(zhàn)爭的完全勝利，和平的陽光再次普照大地。

　　Today is a day that will forever be etched in the memory of people all over

　　the world. Seventyyears ago today, the Chinese people, having fought tenaciously

　　for 14 years, won the greatvictory of their War of Resistance Against Japanese

　　Aggression, marking the full victory of theWorld Anti-Fascist War. On that day,

　　the world was once again blessed by the sunshine of peace.

　　在這里，我代表中共中央、全國人大、國務(wù)院、全國政協(xié)、中央軍委，向全國參加過抗日戰(zhàn)爭的老戰(zhàn)士、老同志、愛國人士和抗日將領(lǐng)，向?yàn)橹袊�人民抗日�?zhàn)爭勝利作出重大貢獻(xiàn)的海內(nèi)外兒女，致以崇高的敬意!向支援和幫助過中國人民抵抗侵略的外國政府和國際友人，表示衷心的感謝!向參加今天大會(huì)的各國來賓和軍人朋友們，表示熱烈的歡迎!

　　On this occasion, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party

　　of China, theStanding Committee of the National People's Congress, the State

　　Council, the National Committeeof the Chinese People's Political Consultative

　　Conference, and the Central Military Commission, Ipay high tribute to all the

　　veterans, comrades, patriots and officers in China who took part in theWar of

　　Resistance and all the Chinese at home and abroad who contributed significantly

　　to thevictory of the War. I extend heartfelt gratitude to foreign governments

　　and friends who supportedand assisted the Chinese people in resisting

　　aggression. I also warmly welcome all the foreignguests and representatives of

　　the armed forces of foreign countries present today.

　　中國人民抗日戰(zhàn)爭和世界反法西斯戰(zhàn)爭，是正義和邪惡、光明和黑暗、進(jìn)步和反動(dòng)的大決戰(zhàn)。在那場慘烈的戰(zhàn)爭中，中國人民抗日戰(zhàn)爭開始時(shí)間最早、持續(xù)時(shí)間最長。面對(duì)侵略者，兒女不屈不撓、浴血奮戰(zhàn)，徹底打敗了日本軍國主義侵略者，捍衛(wèi)了民族5000多年發(fā)展的文明成果，捍衛(wèi)了人類和平事業(yè)，鑄就了戰(zhàn)爭史上的奇觀、民族的壯舉。

　　The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the

　　World Anti-FascistWar were a decisive battle between justice and evil, between

　　light and darkness, and betweenprogress and reaction. In that devastating war,

　　the Chinese People's War of Resistance AgainstJapanese Aggression started the

　　earliest and lasted the longest. In defiance of aggression, theunyielding

　　Chinese people fought gallantly and finally won total victory against the

　　Japanesemilitarist aggressors, thus preserving China's 5,000-year-old

　　civilization and upholding the causeof peace of mankind. This remarkable feat

　　made by the Chinese nation was rare in the history ofwar.

　　中國人民抗日戰(zhàn)爭勝利，是近代以來中國抗擊外敵入侵的第一次完全勝利。這一偉大勝利，徹底粉碎了日本軍國主義殖民奴役中國的圖謀，洗刷了近代以來中國抗擊外來侵略屢戰(zhàn)屢敗的民族恥辱。這一偉大勝利，重新確立了中國在世界上的大國地位，使中國人民贏得了世界愛好和平人民的尊敬。這一偉大勝利，開辟了民族偉大復(fù)興的光明前景，開啟了古老中國鳳凰涅槃、浴火重生的新征程。

　　The victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese

　　Aggression is the firstcomplete victory won by China in its resistance against

　　foreign aggression in modern times. Thisgreat triumph crushed the plot of the

　　Japanese militarists to colonize and enslave China and putan end to China's

　　national humiliation of suffering successive defeats at the hands of

　　foreignaggressors in modern times. This great triumph re-established China as a

　　major country in theworld and won the Chinese people respect of all peace-loving

　　people around the world. This greattriumph opened up bright prospects for the

　　great renewal of the Chinese nation and set ourancient country on a new journey

　　after gaining rebirth.

　　在那場戰(zhàn)爭中，中國人民以巨大民族犧牲支撐起了世界反法西斯戰(zhàn)爭的東方主戰(zhàn)場，為世界反法西斯戰(zhàn)爭勝利作出了重大貢獻(xiàn)。中國人民抗日戰(zhàn)爭也得到了國際社會(huì)廣泛支持，中國人民將永遠(yuǎn)銘記各國人民為中國抗戰(zhàn)勝利作出的貢獻(xiàn)!
