It really does pay to be a doctor, with aninternational survey showing the medical professionis the most trusted, among the most admired andincludes the most eligible marriage partners.
By contrast, actors and musicians, along withjournalists and advertisers, were amongprofessionals that people trusted the least, and werealso least likely to choose a partner from, accordingto a survey by Synovate, the market research armof Aegis Group plc.
"Much of who we are is tied up in what we do inthe hours from nine to five, and often way beyond," a Synovate statement said.
"Asking someone what they do for a living is often the first question you ask them; rightafter' what's your name?'."
The survey polled about 5,500 respondents in Brazil, Canada, China, France, Malaysia,South Africa and the United States.
It asked people what makes for an admirable job, which professions they trust or do not,who is overpaid, and which profession they would prefer to marry.
Sixteen percent nominated doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals as theirpreferred marriage partners, higher than any other profession.
Other eligible -- and admired -- professions were education, at 14 percent, and science andtechnology, at 10 percent.
Educators and doctors were also voted the most trusted by an overwhelming 86 and 87percent, followed by homemakers and those in science and technology.
Only one percent picked retail professionals as partner-material, and those in media andmarketing, as well as entertainers, did little better at two and three percent.
These professions were also among the least trusted by respondents, who, across theseven markets, picked the media as the single least trusted group.
Entertainers, along with corporate executives and lawyers, were voted as being the mostoverpaid, while homemakers and educators were among those seen as being underpaid.

“除了名字，別人的職業(yè)是我們最常問的一個問題�！�
該調(diào)查共有來自巴西、加拿大、中國、法國、馬來西亞、南非和美國的約5500人參加。
調(diào)查問題包括：你認為什么樣的職業(yè)最受人尊敬、你最信任或不信任的職業(yè)、你認為哪些職業(yè)薪水過高以及你傾向于選擇哪些行業(yè)的人為配偶等。
調(diào)查結(jié)果顯示，16%的受訪者選擇醫(yī)生、護士及其它從醫(yī)人員為最理想的結(jié)婚對象，這一比例居各行業(yè)之首。
此外，教育(14%)和科技(10%)也是受尊敬并“符合擇偶要求”的職業(yè)。
同時，教育從業(yè)者和醫(yī)生還是最受信賴的人，分別有多達86%和87%的受訪者這樣認為，家庭主婦和科技人員位列其后。
僅有1%的受訪者選擇零售業(yè)人員為理想的結(jié)婚對象，媒體、營銷和娛樂界人士的情況也好不到哪去，得票率僅為2%和3%。
這幾個職業(yè)同時也最不受人們的信賴，在所列的七大行業(yè)中，媒體從業(yè)人員信任度最低。
娛樂界人士、公司高管和律師被認為收入過高，而家庭主婦和教育從業(yè)者則被認為薪水過低。
