US Open to be held without fans

　　The US Open will be held as scheduled in New York City from Aug 31 to Sept 13 without fans, said New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday.

　　紐約州州長(zhǎng)安德魯·科莫6月16日表示，美網(wǎng)公開(kāi)賽將于8月31日至9月13日在紐約市如期舉辦，比賽現(xiàn)場(chǎng)將沒(méi)有球迷。

　　The US Tennis Association (USTA) "will take extraordinary precautions to protect players and staff," said Cuomo on Twitter.

　　科莫在推特上說(shuō)，美國(guó)網(wǎng)球協(xié)會(huì)“將采取嚴(yán)格的預(yù)防措施，保護(hù)球員和工作人員”。

　　He noted that precaution measures will include robust testing, additional cleaning, extra locker room space, and dedicated housing and transportation.

　　他指出，這些舉措中將包括加強(qiáng)檢測(cè)和清潔、擴(kuò)增更衣室空間，以及提供專用的住宿和交通工具。

　　The decision came as major indicators of the pandemic keep trending down in the northeastern US state with more areas entering a new phase of reopening.

　　近期紐約州主要疫情指標(biāo)持續(xù)下降，因此政府決定美網(wǎng)如期舉辦。

　　USTA Chief Executive Officer Mike Dowse said in a statement on Tuesday that the association is "incredibly excited" about Cuomo's decision.

　　美國(guó)網(wǎng)球協(xié)會(huì)首 席執(zhí)行官邁克爾·道斯6月16日在一份聲明中表示，該協(xié)會(huì)對(duì)科莫的決定感到“非常興奮”。

　　"We recognize the tremendous responsibility of hosting one of the first global sporting events in these challenging times, and we will do so in the safest manner possible, mitigating all potential risks," he said.
