　　The new Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging satellite for monitoring Arctic shipping routes is capable of providing a one-day revisit of most areas along maritime paths across the Arctic. Its data will be used to monitor and predict sea ice, climate change and marine disasters, offering important data support for the safety of Arctic shipping routes.

　　Fast and high-precision monitoring of Arctic sea ice has become an urgent task for scientists. However, current in-orbit SAR satellites cannot fully meet the requirement. The new satellite is expected to improve China's polar monitoring capability.

　　用于北極航道監(jiān)測的合成孔徑雷達(dá)成像衛(wèi)星能對北極航道大部分區(qū)域做到24小時(shí)內(nèi)重訪。該衛(wèi)星能夠?yàn)橛^測海冰變化、海洋災(zāi)害、環(huán)境災(zāi)害提供支持，為航道安全保障提供重要數(shù)據(jù)。

　　對北極海冰進(jìn)行快 速高精度監(jiān)測已成為科學(xué)家的緊迫任務(wù)。然而，目前在軌的合成孔徑雷達(dá)衛(wèi)星尚不能完全滿足這一要求。新型衛(wèi)星有望在此方面提高中國的極地監(jiān)測能力。
