Cataract

　　白內(nèi)障

　　Cataract is clouding of the lens of the eye which prevents clear vision. Although most cases of cataract are related to the ageing process, occasionally children can be born with the condition, or a cataract may develop after eye injuries, inflammation, and some other eye diseases.

　　白內(nèi)障指晶狀體混濁，阻止光線進(jìn)入。多數(shù)白內(nèi)障是老年性疾病，但也有兒童天生患有此病，還有人在受傷、發(fā)炎或生病后出現(xiàn)白內(nèi)障。與年齡相關(guān)的白內(nèi)障的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)因素包括糖尿病、日光長(zhǎng)期照射、煙草使用和飲酒等。可以通過手術(shù)摘除混濁晶狀體和植入人工晶狀體來恢復(fù)視力。

　　Many children in low- and middle-income countries are affected by preventable eye diseases that cause blindness.

　　低收入和中等收入國(guó)家中，許多兒童受到本可避免的致盲眼疾的影響。

　　Six years ago, WHO and partner LIONS Clubs International Foundation launched a worldwide project to prevent and cure most of the diseases that cause poor vision in children. The effort has benefited more than 100 million children so far, and increased access to eye care in 30 countries.

　　6年前，世衛(wèi)組織與獅子會(huì)國(guó)際基金聯(lián)合發(fā)起了一個(gè)項(xiàng)目，努力防治導(dǎo)致兒童視力問題的多數(shù)疾病。迄今共有30多個(gè)國(guó)家一億多名兒童受益，獲得了良好的眼科保健服務(wù)。
