30多年前開啟的改革開放進程，讓中國人民的生活水平在一代人之內(nèi)得到大幅提升。到2013年，中國的糧食產(chǎn)量已連續(xù)10年增長，基本滿足了13億人口的糧食需求。九年義務教育惠及一億六千萬學生，基本公共醫(yī)療服務覆蓋全體城鄉(xiāng)居民。盡管如此，超過2億的中國人仍然生活在貧困線下。城鄉(xiāng)、區(qū)域發(fā)展不均衡，內(nèi)陸某些省份的人均GDP僅為沿海地區(qū)的三分之一。
Thanks to the reform and opening-up started more than 30 years ago, China has substantially improved the living standard of its people within a generation.By 2013, China's grain output had continuously increased over ten consecutive years and basically met the food needs of the 1.3 billion people. Nine-year free compulsory education is provided, covering 160 million students. A nationwide medical service network has been built, covering all its urban and rural residents.However, more than 200million Chinese still live below the poverty line. Development is quite uneven between urban and rural areas and among different regions, with the per capita GDP of some inland provinces being just one third of the coastal region.
