　　Within a single generation, the relationship between the United States and China has been transformed. As two of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, our governments work together on problems affecting every corner of the world.

　　We have seen closer and closer ties not only between government and government, but also business and business and more importantly people and people. We Americans have long cherished and respected our Chinese friends for their wisdom and hardworking.

　　Today, more and more American tourists travel to China and we are happy to receive an increasing number of overseas students from China. They are the “cultural-ambassadors” bridging our two nations.
